Tychiko with Duke City Soul

Baritone, Tychiko Cox; a vocalist from the Islands of The Bahamas has been praised for his brilliant versatility as an artist, charming audiences with his ‘warm lyrical tone’. Ty received his Bachelor of Arts degree from The College of St. Benedict|St. John’s University in Collegeville, Minnesota and his Masters of Music degree from The University of New Mexico.
In 2013, he became nationally recognized as one of The Bahamas’ leading young people under 40 years old during the celebration of their 40th Anniversary of Independence.
In 2015, Ty appeared as principal baritone soloist for the Albuquerque Philharmonic’s production of Henry Mollicone’s ‘Beatitude Mass for the Homeless.’
Throughout his career, he has performed in countries such as the Bahamas, Brazil, South Africa, Europe and many cities throughout the United States.
Ty has also been a part the award winning choral ensemble, The Bahamas National Youth Choir and has appeared as the guest artist for their 22nd Annual Concert Season.
Ty has held roles in The Harrower Opera Workshop in Atlanta, Georgia and The FIO Amercias Opera Workshop in Brazil. During this time he worked with artists such as Thomas Young of the Three Mo’ Tenors, Susan Eichorn-Young- celebrated soloist and vocal pedagogue, Tenor, Carroll Freeman, stage director, Copeland Woodruff, Metropolitan Opera stars, Sylvia McNair and Gail Dubenbaum-Massaro and many other reputable artists.
Ty works as an Applied Voice, Vocal Performance and Diction teacher at the New Mexico School for the Arts in Santa Fe.
